This video discusses the indications and contraindications for airway clearance therapy. It also reviews the most basic forms of airway clearance: chest physiotherapy, positive expiratory pressure (PEP) therapy, and oscillatory PEP therapy. Future videos in this series will review cough assist devices, VEST therapy, and IPV/MetaNeb therapy. These are all important topics for clinicians who care for patients with excessive secretions or reduced ability to effectively cough.
